Notion releases an AI email client for Gmail

Notion Introduces Notion Mail, an AI-powered email Client Integrated with Its Productivity Ecosystem. It only supports Gmail accounts and is available on the web and Mac, with an iOS app in testing. Android and Windows versions are expected to launch in 2025.

🔍 Key Features of Notion Mail
AI-Powered Email Organization with “Views”

Notion Mail leverages artificial intelligence to automatically sort emails into customizable sections called Views. Users can create filters based on sender, subject, or message content. The system then intelligently categorizes incoming emails into the appropriate view. These views are synced with Gmail labels but do not alter the structure of your Gmail inbox.
Deep Integration with Notion’s Tools

The client works seamlessly with other Notion products, including Notion Calendar. You can embed scheduling links directly into emails and use Notion-style slash commands to format messages or insert templates. This brings the familiar Notion interface and workflow into your email experience.
AI-Assisted Drafting and Responses

Notion Mail offers AI features to help write and edit emails. Users can prompt the AI assistant to generate replies, schedule meetings, or insert pre-made templates that auto-fill details like Zoom links or recipient names, boosting productivity and reducing repetitive tasks.
⚠️ Limitations and What’s Coming Next
Current Limitations:
- Only supports Gmail accounts (no Outlook or others yet).
- Available only on the Web and macOS (iOS app in testing, Android and Windows coming later).
- Does not support multiple email accounts in a single unified inbox.
Coming Soon:
- Support for additional email providers like Outlook.
- Expanded mobile app availability for iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.
- Stronger integrations with other Notion products and third-party services.
🛠️ Built on Skiff Technology
Notion Mail is powered by technology acquired from the Skiff company, a privacy-focused productivity platform known for its end-to-end encrypted email. This acquisition laid the groundwork for Notion Mail’s modular architecture and user-first design.
